BIO
A native of the Caribbean, Denise Barclay is an Independent Recording Artist with
an active music ministry. Her style can be described as Inspirational-Contemporary
Christian Music, with selections varying in style, from the contemplative to the
soulful. She is the founder of her independent record label, Watergirlmusic.
Ministry Highlights: Her regular appearances on the 3ABN Christian and Hope television networks have reached souls all over the world. Denise has also been blessed to travel across the U.S. as well as internationally (Canada, London, Alaska, Bermuda, and several
islands of the Caribbean). She has co-ministered on the same stage with several
international Recording Artists to include Wintley Phipps, John Lomacang, Larnelle
Harris, Donnie McClurklin , Hellen Baylor, Jaime Jorge, Admiral Barry Black, and
South African recording artist, Jonathan Butler.
Recording Projects: Denise's debut solo release, "Healing Waters," (2001) reflects the story of how God brought her through a very difficult period in her life. Her sophomore CD, "Restored," was released in December 2004. In 2005, she released a mini Christmas
project "Save A Star." Her latest release, "Songs We Love" (2008), is a compilation
of familiar hymns, praise, and contemporary worship songs.
Professional Career /Edcuation: She is currently based in the Washington, DC area, and also has an active professional career, working on behalf of youth and families involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. Her professional degrees are in Mental Health, Forensic Psychology, and Behavioral Counseling. As a way of “giving back” to
the community, she spent 10 years as an adjunct professor in psychology, at the
Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Maryland and has a heart for young people!
Life Purpose : Through her music, she hopes to bring a message of hope, healing, and restoration to the hearts of her listeners. Her ultimate goal is to use her gifts to honor the will of God in her life, and influence others to do the same.
